The Effutu Municipal Health Directorate has issued an alert on a recorded case of Meningococcal Meningitis at Gomoa East District.
A statement from the directorate said all health staff must be on the lookout for the key signs and symptoms and how to prevent the spread of the disease.
“We are also entreating the various health management to ensure strict compliance of Personal Protective Equipment as well as cough etiquette,” the statement added.

The directorate said it will use schools, churches and mosques as well as health facilities as channels to alert the general public.
Also, the statement said all individuals who exhibit any of the signs and symptoms should visit the nearest health facility for proper care and treatment.
